Santa Baby live at the Plush Room, SF, Dec.17,18,19

SANTA BAY-BEEE!!!

LFB's successful performances at Donna Sachet's (15th Annual) SONGS OF THE SEASON at the Plush Room in San Francisco brought down the house with a funky and modern rendition of Santa Baby.

A fund-raiser for this cause:

Aids Emergency Fund (AEF) was one of the nation’s earliest responders to AIDS. In the summer of 1982, AEF began providing emergency financial assistance to people who had been fired and evicted by panicked employers and landlords because they showed symptoms of a mysterious and deadly illness.

Since then, AIDS Emergency Fund (AEF) has provided nearly $25,000,000 in emergency financial assistance to people facing the challenges of living with debilitating HIV and AIDS. This has been made possible by the overwhelming support from the San Francisco community. AEF's very low overhead is covered by corporate and foundation gifts, which means 100% of all funds from individuals and community events goes directly to clients in need.

Each year approximately 2,500 low-income San Franciscans get help from AEF – enabling them to maintain housing and utility services, make medical co-payments, and meet other critical expenses while they are too sick to work. And, AEF works closely with more than 40 other AIDS service agencies in San Francisco to assure that its emergency assistance is coupled with referrals to other organizations that provide meals, counseling, subsidized housing and other longer-term assistance.

So, this is a fun-hearted event with support to an excellent cause. We support their goals and purpose.

And to everybody: A WISH OF A HAPPY HOLIDAY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS and a sincere wish for a BOUNTIFUL NEW YEAR 2008.

Our singer KATHLEEN ANTONIA in her solo album!!!

Hey All,

Hope everybody had a really good weekend. Getting ready for the Holidaze, it's that most wonderful (or stressful) time of year... hahaha

Okay, I want to tell you all about one of lead members, Kathleen Antonia and her new solo jazz album that I helped her engineer and produce.

Kathleen has recorded at BaySounds and did an very heartfelt and amazing album of jazz standards with piano accompaniment with a bonus track of an original song she wrote and played guitar on.

It's such a sweet sentimental journey showcasing her emotional range as a singer. Just to let you all know on a secret, she just rocked the house at our LFB CD release party a few weeks ago. She performed three songs, one song from her solo album "I'll Be Seeing You (In All the Old Familiar Places)", plus did a touching yet sassy tribute to Jo-Carol, our band member who passed away in our formative year, doing "Everywoman" and brought her beau Chris up on stage for some impromptu performances, and then ruled with "Body Electric remix" in the LFB Dance Medley

But in this blog I really want to give her props as a singer, with us, and solo, as an actor featured in national and international films, stage plays up and down over the west coast and even some very high-profile national commercials even with a one-liner saying "wow" in a two second spot that has shown up on all our tv shows thousands and thousands of times for the past year or two.

Kudos and love to you Kathleen.

Before I forget, let me send you to her myspace site, if you haven't already clicked on her profiles on this site.

http://www.myspace.com/kathleenantoniamusic

Support an blossoming talent and buy her album "Next Time". It's the perfect Christmas gift for any one in your family and friends who love jazz and the vocal standards that EVERY type of folk all can recognize and enjoy.

Sending everyone love this Sunday night,

CD Release Party

Just a couple weeks ago, we had our LFB Cd release party, which was an incredible success in soma (potrero hill) in SF. The singers ruled the stage, and put on a captivating LIVE show with dancers, and a pumping PA. We're celebrating the release of our first album, "In The Midnight Hour". It was the coming together of talents, personalities, for a twelve song album that is guaranteed to put you in a romantic mood.

Soul Sista Shakti, Kathleen Antonia, and Anna Wren became a family of darlings who sang back-ups on each other's songs. ...and each and every singer was BRILLIANT in their turn at lead vocals, each singing their heart out, and enrapturing the crowd.
We also played the electro remix of "Workin' For Your Love" which we posted on www.MySpace.com/leofrappierband , and also offer it a free download, so you can have a LFB tune in your collection. More remixes and a remix ep coming soon.

....and starting on our second album. Wish us love and luck! Thanks for being friends and fans.

The CD is available on Amazon.com, and the songs are very available on iTunes.
In either domain, just type in LFB in the "search" field in the upper right of the screen, and there you will find us.

This button will link you to our page on iTunes.

Early November Happenings

Hi my friends,

It's been a busy month since getting back from vacation. We've officially released our album "In the Midnight Hour". It's now available at www.amazon.com, and www.cdbaby.com, and also as digital download on iTunes (U.S., U.K., N.Z.), Rhapsody, eMusic, Napster, and SonyConnect. Also available soon in brick and mortar stores, starting with Medium Rare Records in San Francisco.

Also, we just had our first rehearsal as a group outside of the studio. Our first show is coming soon, and it was great to get everybody together and play and sing as a group.

And in the latest news, we just finished the electro house remix of "Working For Your Love", which is posted now on www.myspace.com/leofrappierband.

We LOVE it, and hope you listen and groove on it as well! Keep enjoying your week, ok?

Back from Vacation in Cancun, Mexico

Back from Vacation in Cancun, Mexico
Hi friends,

Am back from an awesome vacation in Cacun. The resort was actually a bit south of Cancun along the Mexican Riveria, looking over to the island of Cozumel.

The resorts was all-inclusive including all the food, all the alcohol, and the service was excellent. So was the room. It's called "Secrets Capri - Mexican Riveria" Went to the ancient Mayan pyramids which was quite an interesting spot on the planet. One of the seven wonders of the world.

The disco, and the one in nearby Playa del Carmen, played the dance music from our album and it rocked!! The outside activities director played name that tune, one day, and played the first key beats from Body Electric (of course I got THAT one right) and then they introduced me to the crowd. Later that day, another outdoor DJ played the whole album in the afternoon. Great response!

Reminds me that our music is not just for the bedroom, or the dance-floor, but it's also for the pool or the beach!

Anyway, just random thoughts et al, and wanted to send everyone some love this weekend!

peace and love,

Love Parade and Love Fest San Francisco

San Francisco Love Fest
Current mood: bouncy

Wow!!!!!!! I certainly hope that anyone within driving distance of the San Francisco Bay Area, came to SF this Saturday for the Love Parade and Love Fest at the Civic Center in front of City Hall this weekend.

OMG, this was an incredible event. Okay..... at first we were skeptical at first. There is so much hype on House Music events everywhere. Boom boom this, boom boom that.

But this......was incredible!!!!

I remember the early Love Parade festival just a few years ago, with like 10 floats with a 10 block run along the Embarcadero with a limited run. Now this has just exploded with House Music enthusiasts, with very very little commercial and political promotion. It's all about the music.

There were maybe just 300 people at the first event in 2003 and at this one in 2007, just like four years later, 30,000 to 40,000 !!!

And it was such a wonderful event. I can't describe in the words what it was all about, it was all about the experience and all inclusiveness of every walk of people, every race, every creed, and all with a spiritual vibe simply amped with the house music vibe.

Okay, I'm gushing... but this is the best parade and street faire I'm ever been to, and I've been to many in this wonderful SF City and others around the world. And the weather was perfect. "indian Summer" as we call it after the fog of every one else's hot summer subsides.

It was truly a "love fest" like something inspired by the 60's with the inspiration of the new age and millenium ( do we still use those terms?). All those words aside, truly think of everybody in the best mood possible with out drugs and other influences and just enjoying the day, the MUSIC and the sun. ..... and it's about the sounds.... long live house music forever!!

Okay, this is a long post and it's Tuesday, but I've been busy everyday since Saturday including working on Sunday with a recording sessions every day since, but this is a day We'll Always Remember.

peace, love and happiness,
LEO from LFB

Italian Press!!!!

Hello hello!

We've been busy this month with promotion, especially with iTunes. Also, went on a vacation to Hawaii last week, in celebration of my one-year marriage anniversary to my honey.

Just before we left, we received in the mail a copy of the magazine "ACID JAZZ" that reviewed our CD in a full-page spread, and included "Body Electric (remix)" on a compilation CD that was bundled with the magazine. One thing though, is that it all was in Italian! We knew that when we got the offer to get reviewed. But a dear friend of mine, translated the article, and I'm enclosing the text below.

Have a great summer day, everyone!

A SEXY MIDNIGHT

(by Davide Carabini)

Sexy music with a lot of rhythm which seems more at home
in the latest club than in the bedroom. Strong yet sweet vibes
from the first album by Leo Frappier and his band, which we
present here in worldwide exclusive.

Leo Frappier's band is very unusual. The musicians are Ricc
Sandoval and Paul Brewer, together with a handful of vocalists
including Kathleen Antonio, star of the musical "Menopause,"
Troy Ziel, Steven Trier and Soul Sista Shakti. All of them
coordinated by a 5-star producer and remixer who has worked
with artists such as Rhianna, Nina Hagen, Sylvester, Eva Cowden
and Crystal Gayle, just to name a few of his credits.

LFB came out of nowhere in 2003 when Leo decided to compose
some tracks which blended R&B, lounge music and new jazz
sounds. His idea was well-received in San Francisco and the Bay
Area as well as amongst his peers in the music world. The first
to volunteer to collaborate was Jo-Carol Davidson, a brilliant
vocaslist, author, entertainer and social activist.
June 5 of that year, however, Davidson died, having recorded
only 2 tracks, "Everywoman" and "Body Electric." This was a
terrible blow for the band until the arrival of white soulman
Steven Marc Trier, an American version of George Michael,
which enabled the band to finish an EP named "In the Midnight
Hour" for release in June 2004.

Two years were then spent composing new songs and then Soul
Sista arrived with her provocative voice, fresh from working with
OM label along with two prestigious musicians on a multiformat
Soundtrack project which recalled 'club' rythms and moves with
Sexy undertones completing the picture.

The picture has been completed with the first official LFB album,
again entitled "In the Midnight Hour," which will be released
on November 1st 2007 but which will be available for download
from I-tunes three months earlier. We are offering you the remixed track of "Body Electric" on our sampler; it is a typical
example of their rhythm which, in this dancefloor version,
showcases all of Frappier's talent and his ability to create suave
and powerful riffs paired with vocals that are at once sexy and
breathy, sometimes conversational, sometimes open.

Ahead of Schedule, wow!

Hi there,

Well, I was told by Apple and iTunes that our LFB songs would "go live" on iTunes by August 28. Well, it turns out that they went ahead of schedule and added our tunes to the store. It was an awesome pleasant surprise. To locate, open iTunes, and in the search box, just type in LFB, and check out all TWELVE of our tunes.

Hope everyone is having a good summer. It's really hot here in San Francisco for July. Usually the fog checks us in, but it's a real summer with lots of sun and occasional rain. Our climate is changing.

Anyway, feel the power, and hold the love,

I'll let you know next week how it's going getting distribution on www.amazon.com. That'd be great, and still looking for regional and international physical CD distribution besides the watering house of cdbaby.com. ....actually I shouldn't complain about cdbaby, for they have actually moved forward and sold some CD's. And they do an excellent job with a super-large catalog! Go Derek! :)
