Hello hello!
We've been busy this month with promotion, especially with iTunes. Also, went on a vacation to Hawaii last week, in celebration of my one-year marriage anniversary to my honey.
Just before we left, we received in the mail a copy of the magazine "ACID JAZZ" that reviewed our CD in a full-page spread, and included "Body Electric (remix)" on a compilation CD that was bundled with the magazine. One thing though, is that it all was in Italian! We knew that when we got the offer to get reviewed. But a dear friend of mine, translated the article, and I'm enclosing the text below.
Have a great summer day, everyone!
xoxo,
LEO

A SEXY MIDNIGHT
(by Davide Carabini)
Sexy music with a lot of rhythm which seems more at home
in the latest club than in the bedroom. Strong yet sweet vibes
from the first album by Leo Frappier and his band, which we
present here in worldwide exclusive.
Leo Frappier's band is very unusual. The musicians are Ricc
Sandoval and Paul Brewer, together with a handful of vocalists
including Kathleen Antonio, star of the musical "Menopause,"
Troy Ziel, Steven Trier and Soul Sista Shakti. All of them
coordinated by a 5-star producer and remixer who has worked
with artists such as Rhianna, Nina Hagen, Sylvester, Eva Cowden
and Crystal Gayle, just to name a few of his credits.
LFB came out of nowhere in 2003 when Leo decided to compose
some tracks which blended R&B, lounge music and new jazz
sounds. His idea was well-received in San Francisco and the Bay
Area as well as amongst his peers in the music world. The first
to volunteer to collaborate was Jo-Carol Davidson, a brilliant
vocaslist, author, entertainer and social activist.
June 5 of that year, however, Davidson died, having recorded
only 2 tracks, "Everywoman" and "Body Electric." This was a
terrible blow for the band until the arrival of white soulman
Steven Marc Trier, an American version of George Michael,
which enabled the band to finish an EP named "In the Midnight
Hour" for release in June 2004.
Two years were then spent composing new songs and then Soul
Sista arrived with her provocative voice, fresh from working with
OM label along with two prestigious musicians on a multiformat
Soundtrack project which recalled 'club' rythms and moves with
Sexy undertones completing the picture.
The picture has been completed with the first official LFB album,
again entitled "In the Midnight Hour," which will be released
on November 1st 2007 but which will be available for download
from I-tunes three months earlier. We are offering you the remixed track of "Body Electric" on our sampler; it is a typical
example of their rhythm which, in this dancefloor version,
showcases all of Frappier's talent and his ability to create suave
and powerful riffs paired with vocals that are at once sexy and
breathy, sometimes conversational, sometimes open.
